| This image is more dramatic than the other two, i like it as it goes against many typical conventions of a magazine cover. For example this is a long shot taken from above the model, this is not typical as you can see the whole of the model when normally you can only see the upper body and the models face. Also there is no direct mode of address with this model as she is gazing into the distance, this means there is no connection to the reader and is un common of magazines. The image connotes sadness which could be due to the school life, this is due to the dullness of the photo and the fact that the model looks depressed. Also the masthead would not fit above the model without blocking half of her, also the cover lines have a lot of space to fill due to the image not being central. |
