I have chosen to do a ‘rock n roll’ magazine, and this mood board shows some ideas that I will combine with my front cover. I have tried to capture the generalization and portrayal of the rock and roll genre through my mood board.

This is shown as 7 of the images include a guitar; this signifies rock and roll immediately, therefore I will try and include this in my magazine front cover. My mood board is also quite dull, with a lot of dark colours being used, mainly blacks and greys, however there is some colour such as the ‘Fall out boy’ album cover. The dull colours connate trouble and sadness which is what rock and roll music represents depressing tone and mystery which is what comes with the genre. Therefore I will try and include these ideas into my magazine cover, using a black and white image with little colour.
I will try and get across the emphasis that ‘roll and roll’ never dies, as shown by the image in the top corner; this will be shown through my cover lines. Rock and roll, as shown by my mood board, is and unpredictable genre that has been around for a long time, it also includes a range of people who may be dubbed as crazy, as shown in my bottom middle image.

I also like the fonts used, the font in the top hand corner 'rock' n roll forever' is son serif, its a classic font and typically fits the rock n roll genre, I will try and use a font like this in my magazine front cover as it fits both the image and the genre. The font in the bottom right corner 'maximum rock n roll' seems like it quite be quite 'loud' and more likely seen on the front cover of a scream magazine not a rock and roll one. Therefore i will not use a font like this on my magazine as it does not conform to normal rock and roll conventions and does not fit in with the idea of the 'cool' theme.

This is why I have chosen the rock and roll genre as I can experiment with many things but also stick to conventions such as guitars and dull colours, I have tried to show this through my mood board and give me a range of ideas and things to work with and build upon.
